Have you ever seen "the" George Carlin video?

George Carlin is no longer with us. In fact, he passed on in 2008 just a few short months after making this incredibly insightful video.  Try to remember back to 2008.  Many of the things Carlin was talking about seemed outlandish to the crowd.  He was telling them the truth and they thought it was comedy.  In case there is any question as to whether or not he was joking, check out this video of him signing autographs (hint: not joking even a little).  To recap his genius rant (remember, this was 2008 when all of these things sounded outlandish):

  • Politicians are for show.  They are told what to say and do.
  • The legal system is complicit.
  • The money elite control the media and through it they control our thoughts and actions.
  • They don't want a population of citizens who are well informed and who are capable of critical thinking.  They want obedient labor.
  • Carlin warned us to expect "increasingly shittier jobs" (like Wal-Mart) and which also includes the rise of the part time job thanks to Obamacare.
    • Lower pay, longer hours, reduced benefits.  Sound familiar?  Carlin nailed it.
  • Here is another one that Carlin nailed which has not played out yet but that the math demands that it will: "the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect on it".  I wish the boomers understood that the money that they think is safe and sound in their pension account has been invested in the likes of GE, Facebook, Twitter, Banks, housing debt, government debt and all manner of other overpriced crap for which there will be no buyers when these assets have to be sold in order to make the requisite pension and annuity payments.  The money simply is not there.  It only exists on paper (AKA "market cap") as a result of a bidding war between leveraged buyers of assets using other people's money.
  • They tell you what to believe, think, and buy using their media.
  • The people continue to elect rich assholes who do not care about them at all.  They worship Obama, Hillary, Bush, Clinton, etc.  All manner of crazy crap happens under their "leadership" and the people don't seem to care.
I really do wish people would wake up to the insanity of thinking that "market cap=real value".  That's like thinking that Madoff's victims had real value because they had numbers on paper to prove it.  Below is the chart of Best Buy, inc.  How can something whose dollar price varies this wildly be thought to have any real value?  Its market cap was cut in half in a short span of 3 months and before this is over it will trade under $5.  There is no value in these pumped up share prices.  It's all a big fat lie sold to people who have been taught to believe everything they hear as long as the talker has some kind of official title.  Independent, critical thinking is nearly a lost art form due to the way that TV infects the brain and changes it to align with the goals of those who control it.
Thanks George.  You were ahead of your time on this score.  Of course, I'd end this by hoping that you rest in peace but you were an atheist and so that is impossible.  If your atheistic views are as correct as your views on money and government were then you are now completely oblivious to your current circumstance (thus, not "resting").  Of course, if your atheistic views proved to be incorrect, you are also not resting in any kind of peace.  So I'll just leave it at thanks.
