Got political privilege? No? Then stay locked up with the sick people.

We here in the US watch TV shows that depict things that are actually happening in Liberia right now as government has surrounded a low income living area holding 50,000 people and have come up with excuses to shoot to kill anyone that tried to leave.  It's like something right out of The Last Ship TV show.  It's incredible.  And at the same time, it's just human nature.  People are self serving and if they sense a threat they will deal with it however they can, fairness and honor be damned.

I'm just about tired of feeling sorry for all the people in this world who are getting mistreated.  The stories never end and they probably never will.  The bottom line is that if you allow yourself to be disarmed you MUST expect that whenever the powers that be decide your life is over, it is over.  Might makes right.  That is just the way of the world and getting depressed about all of the tyranny and horror around the world is a huge waste of time.  People who are mistreated because they failed to arm themselves essentially get what they deserve.  I know that not everyone in the world is rich and can go out and buy a new gun. But the criminals all have guns.  Where did they get them?  And I also know that many places in the world make gun ownership a severe crime. If it's a matter of survival (and it often is) I guess I'd choose to be a criminal.

In one Mexican town the people woke up from their slumber and said enough is enough.  The authorities had killed their self-appointed leader and that was the last straw.  So they took their shitty old guns and used their numbers to round up the corrupt cops and dethrone them.  The vigilantes then turned these criminals over to state prosecutors.  Even though the state is probably just as corrupt as those who were remanded into their custody, the vigilantes have still sent a clear message: they have lost all trust for official authorities and they will no longer subjugate themselves to self appointed slave masters.  They will take up arms in their own defense.  Guess what?  These people have just saved themselves from further attacks.

Are these Mexicans poor?  Of course!  And they didn't even have the benefit of nice guns from Obama's gun running Atty General Eric "fast and furious" Holder.  Instead, they had old shotguns and single shot hunting rifles and whatever other crap gun was laying about.  Given that they had the numbers, this was all they really needed in order to defend themselves from corrupt government which was in league with the evil drug lords.  These Mexican citizens proved what informed people have always known: unarmed people are easy prey for corrupt government.  Armed people, on the the other hand, represent a control mechanism - a feedback loop of sorts - which makes government con men think twice before crossing the line into tyranny.

Liberian people and others who are being repressed, you have only one intelligent option: arm yourself so that one enemy soldier cannot use one weapon as a force multiplier of 30, 40 even 50 to 1 against you.  I guarantee you that if you give me an AR15 and ten 30 round mags and 100 yards of space between me and 50 people who want to harm me that they will have no chance.   That's just how big a force multiplier a modern self defense weapon is no matter who is holding it when the opposition is disarmed.  But if just 3 of those 50 have even single shot rifles, my odds of survival plummet to something like 3:1.  That's because they can pin me down while closing the distance.  And if 5 of them have crappy guns (just 10%) I would bet on them winning the contest.  So even a crappy old gun with only 20-50 rds of ammo improves the odds exponentially.

This truth is the same no matter if the location is Liberia, Mexico or the USA.  You cannot know what the future brings but you can know that your odds of being abused by corrupt government and other criminal elements skyrocket if you don't have any means of self defense.  Get a gun.  Learn how to use it safely.  Become proficient in its application as a tool of self defense.
