New conservatism, South Korean style

Pro golfer Sang-Moon Bae was playing games with the mandatory conscription laws currently in effect in South Korea.  For some strange reason, he didn't want to leave his elitist multimillion dollar gig where everyone kissed his ass to go do two years in the military for $130/month and everyone yelling in his face.  Instead of looking the other way for a few bribes under the table as certainly would have happened in the past, the South Korean government instead made a public spectacle of ordering him into the military.  Bae intelligently fell back into humble mode and accepted the decision.  When the herd is suffering, everyone must suffer together lest the lower classes begin to realize how badly they are getting screwed.  Forcing the multimillionaire into the crappy SK army isn't going to make any difference in the safety of the nation but it is sure to have a calming effect on the SK slave-class population.
