My letter sent to Obama regarding executive clemency for hero Snowden.

I sent the following to Obama via the White House web site.

Greetings Mr. Obama,

I'll keep it short, sir.  I'm not a big fan of your policies but would like to offer you and your political strategists some candid advice if I may.  There is a conservative wind sweeping America and I'm pretty sure you and your team have felt it.  It was the force behind the November election GOP wins (even though the people haven't caught onto the fact that most GOP are liberals based on their actions supporting more debt, more war, more central control by fewer people, etc).

In any case, the people are turning conservative and so if you want the democratic party to have even the faintest chance of winning again in 2016 you are going to have to begin appearing a lot more conservative.  And so here is a small piece of advice for you: grant Snowden executive clemency now.  Do not leave it on the table as low hanging fruit for some GOP puppet!  You issue executive orders all the time and everyone hates you for it.  It has driven popularity of the democratic party to abysmal lows.  So here is a chance to show the people that not all executive actions are bad, and in so doing, that the democratic party is not all bad.

Mr Obama, I'm pretty sure your people know that CitizenFour won an Oscar last night. You cannot win an Oscar for a documentary unless the people agree with the subject matter.  Documentaries get Oscars not for art but for communication on some important subject.  Face it sir, Snowden won and your team lost this time.  It happens.  You cannot win them all.  But you can turn this into a positive legacy for the next democratic candidate for the presidency by showing the people that you do not hold grudges and that the will of the American people is important to the democratic party.

Yes sir, you can appear to be a benevolent leader to millions of people simply by stepping up and using your great power to do something that the people want to see happen.  Besides, if you don't the GOP will.

Please consider granting Edward Snowden executive clemency now.  Not for his sake, of course, but for the sake of your own party.

Sincerely,
........

By the way, you have to love the ludicrous automated response I got:

Open and accessible????  Only if you are a high roller campaign contributor elite who has sold his soul!

For the record, I know this will have no effect.  I also know that if they do pardon Snowden then it will be because their political experts already figured out that they could use it for political gain long before they received my email.  But each of us should do what we can do, and I could do this so I did.
